AMD has unveiled a revolutionary ray-tracing technology—Tetrahedral Cages—which, in real-world testing on the Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card, has significantly reduced VRAM usage from 80GB to just 1.7GB, a staggering 97.8% decrease. In scenes featuring 25,000 dynamic vegetation elements, BVH update efficiency has improved by over 90 times. When handling complex scenes with 500 million dynamic triangles, the RX 9070 XT maintains a stable frame rate above 60 FPS at 1080p resolution. However, this technology is primarily suited for dense scenes like grasslands and forests, offering limited support for complex animations requiring precise deformation, and currently lacks a clear timeline for implementation.
