On September 14, data released by South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy revealed that the nation’s information and communication technology (ICT) exports soared to US$59.98 billion in August. This marked a staggering year-on-year increase of 162.6%, achieving an all-time monthly record and surpassing the US$50 billion threshold for the third consecutive month. Concurrently, the ICT trade surplus reached US$41.37 billion, exceeding US$40 billion for the first time ever.
