On September 4, data from CFM Flash Memory Market revealed that the global DRAM market skyrocketed to US$147.024 billion in the second quarter of 2026, representing a remarkable 55.9% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) increase and setting a new record high. During this period, original manufacturers proactively addressed the burgeoning demand in the server market by ramping up sales of high-value-added products, notably server DRAM and High Bandwidth Memory (HBM). Following a notable doubling of the average selling price (ASP) for both server and PC DRAM in Q1 compared to the previous quarter, the rate of increase moderated to a range of 40%-50% in Q2.

A favorable pricing landscape spurred original manufacturers to continually bolster DRAM prices, resulting in simultaneous growth in both sales volume and price, and subsequently, a substantial uptick in sales revenue during the second quarter. Looking ahead to Q3, original manufacturers and certain server customers have established price ceilings for long-term agreements, with price hikes for non-long-term agreements expected to narrow on a QoQ basis. It is anticipated that the ASP of DRAM from original manufacturers will persist in its upward trajectory in Q3, albeit at a more tempered pace. Concurrently, with the anticipated positive growth in DRAM bit shipments, original manufacturers' DRAM sales revenue in Q3 is poised to reach unprecedented levels.
