On September 4, a South Korean government official stated on Friday that South Korea and the US are discussing semiconductor investments by South Korean companies in the US within the framework of broader bilateral consultations. When asked whether the chip tariff plan previously disclosed by US Secretary of Commerce Lutnick would affect the current investment negotiations, the official said that various issues exist between South Korea and the US, and sometimes they influence each other.
