On August 31, the 'Jingfan Core 1.0' press conference, hosted by the Management Committee of the International Seed Industry Science and Technology Park in Tongzhou District, Beijing, was held, marking the official debut of China's first high-precision solid-phase gene chip for tomato breeding with completely independent intellectual property rights. Developed jointly by Beijing Tongzhou International Seed Industry Science and Technology Co., Ltd. and several other institutions, the chip contains nearly 5,000 core loci, covering important agronomic traits of tomatoes such as yield, quality, and pest and disease resistance, enabling effective identification of related genetic variations. Its detection rate reaches 99.12%, and the detection repeatability reaches 99.85%, with both core indicators reaching international advanced levels. The chip can be widely applied in eight major scenarios, including precise identification of germplasm resources and molecular marker-assisted breeding, covering the entire breeding chain from basic research to variety protection, and from the laboratory to the field, breaking the long-term reliance on imported core tools for tomato breeding.
