On August 23, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang arrived in Taipei in a low-profile manner by private jet and left approximately 2 hours later. This marked his third visit to Taiwan this year and the second consecutive year he conducted a lightning visit in late August just before NVIDIA's financial report release. As TSMC is the sole foundry for NVIDIA's AI chips, the market speculated that Huang's trip was primarily for closed-door discussions with TSMC executives on critical issues such as capacity allocation for next-generation AI chips and advanced packaging quotas, continuing the practice from last year of confirming production capacity in person before the financial report. The trip was kept confidential, with media only capturing images of Huang and his wife at a steamed bun shop on the streets of Taipei, and his assistant even taking away 30 meat dumplings.
