Four Joint Labs of Xidian University’s Hangzhou Research Institute Make the First Cut for Xiaoshan District’s 2026 District-Enterprise Joint Laboratory Accreditation

Recently, in line with the "Guidelines for Establishing Joint Laboratories in Xiaoshan District" (Xiaoke [2026] No. 13), the district has unveiled the inaugural batch of accredited joint laboratories for 2026. The selection process, which included independent applications, material reviews, and public announcements, has culminated in the successful accreditation of four joint laboratories. These laboratories were established by the Hangzhou Research Institute of Xidian University in collaboration with four leading enterprises: Zhejiang Digipower Technology, Hangzhou Hollysys Technology, Hangzhou Jingfeng Garden Tools, and Hangzhou CAS-Yixin Microelectronics.

Each of these joint laboratories is dedicated to a specific area of research that aligns closely with Xiaoshan District’s strategic industrial sectors. The research focuses encompass power supply and information security chips, security solutions for the Internet of Vehicles and robot joint modules, intelligent operation robots for garden applications, and high-performance digital-analog hybrid and reconfigurable RF chips. These endeavors embody a collaborative research model characterized by "vertical projects + horizontal development," fostering innovation across multiple dimensions.

Significant strides have already been made by these joint laboratories. They have implemented a dual-mentor system, welcomed graduate students for hands-on research, completed the development of a multi-modal monitoring prototype for intelligent cockpits with real-world vehicle validation, and secured multiple invention patents. These achievements underscore the laboratories’ commitment to driving technological advancement and fostering industry-academia collaboration.

Looking ahead, the Hangzhou Research Institute of Xidian University is poised to further standardize the operation and management of these joint laboratories. The institute will focus on addressing real-world industrial needs, tackling "bottleneck" technologies within the industry, implementing joint talent cultivation programs, and facilitating the seamless transition from technology research and development to industrialization. This strategic approach aims to accelerate innovation, enhance industry competitiveness, and contribute to the sustainable development of Xiaoshan District’s key industrial sectors.
