On August 21, in response to media speculation about the potential establishment of a factory in Japan, SK Hynix (SKHY.O) clarified that it has not made a definitive decision on whether to proceed with building semiconductor production facilities in the country. In its efforts to bolster the competitiveness of its memory chip division, the company is currently exploring a range of strategies, which encompass the expansion of production sites. However, no concrete decision has been reached at this juncture. SK Hynix mentioned that it will provide further updates on the matter once specific details are finalized or within one month from the publication of this report.
