On August 20, reports emerged indicating that Samsung Foundry had updated its technology roadmap at the SAFE Forum 2026, pushing back the mass production timeline for the 1.4nm process to 2029. This adjustment marks a two-year delay compared to the original schedule and is roughly one year behind TSMC's planned mass production of the A14 process, which is set to commence in 2028. Previously, in 2022, Samsung Foundry had outlined its intentions to begin mass production of the 2nm process in 2025 and the 1.4nm process in 2027.
