On August 19, Lion Microelectronics released its investor relations activity record, revealing that all investment projects funded through the private placement in 2021 have commenced production as planned. With the semiconductor industry on the rebound, there's a robust demand for semiconductor silicon wafers, and prices have begun an upward trajectory. The company anticipates achieving profitability in the first half of 2026, largely attributable to a marked enhancement in the profitability of its semiconductor silicon wafer segment. Spurred by the AI computing power sector, the demand for heavily doped silicon wafers is experiencing rapid growth. Concurrently, Lion Microelectronics continues to ramp up its production capacity for 12-inch silicon wafers, with ongoing refinement and enhancement of its product portfolio. The scale of both production and sales has expanded steadily, leading to a substantial uptick in shipment volumes. This has effectively driven down unit production costs, resulting in a notable year-on-year surge in the overall gross profit margin of the silicon wafer business. Presently, the company is in the process of expanding its production capacity for 12-inch silicon wafers. As the depreciation of fixed assets acquired by the Quzhou base and Hangzhou Dongxin in 2016-2017 gradually concludes, it is projected that the growth rate of fixed asset depreciation will decelerate in the coming years. At present, the company has no intentions to venture into the development of SOI silicon wafers.
