At present, the company is assessing the production performance of the equipment, along with the efficacy and dependability of the AI systems within the production setting. This evaluation is anticipated to conclude by the year's end. Industry insiders reveal that the key performance indicators (KPIs) for SK Hynix's equipment validation personnel are now directly linked to the validation and deployment of AI software. In the meantime, Samsung Electronics is also vigorously incorporating AI into its semiconductor manufacturing processes to boost production efficiency. It has come to light that Samsung mandates equipment suppliers to incorporate AI Agents as standard features in newly procured equipment. Previously, Samsung maintained a cautious approach towards AI, primarily due to apprehensions regarding safety and reliability. However, the company has recently pivoted its strategy, opting to actively deploy AI for process control and across a wider range of manufacturing operations.
