According to insider Jaykihn on platform X, Intel is set to launch its next-generation "Nova Lake-S" desktop processors later this year. Notably, certain models equipped with high-performance integrated graphics will demand significantly higher power supplies, thereby elevating both the overall thermal design power (TDP) and peak power consumption. The top-tier Nova Lake-S processor features a dual-compute chip architecture with a total of 52 cores, including 4 low-power efficiency cores (LPE). It also introduces, for the first time, a large-capacity last-level cache (bLLC), with high-end variants offering up to 288MB of cache. This processor places stringent demands on the motherboard’s power delivery capabilities; the 52-core flagship model can only achieve full performance on premium 900-series motherboards, while mid-range and budget models will encounter limitations in both power and performance. Additionally, the Nova Lake-S integrates an NPU 6 unit boasting 74 trillion operations per second (TOPS) of AI computing power, with native support for DDR5-8000 memory and PCIe 5.0.
