On the evening of July 29, after the regular trading hours, SK Hynix's share price initially plummeted by over 9% but later rebounded to register a 1.27% gain. The company's financial report for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026 revealed that its revenue reached KRW 79.3187 trillion, operating profit stood at KRW 60.5426 trillion, and net profit amounted to KRW 93.9226 trillion, all of which fell short of market forecasts. Notably, the average selling price of DRAM chips witnessed a quarter-over-quarter increase of around 30%, while the average selling price of NAND flash memory surged by approximately 50% to 55% on a quarterly basis. Looking ahead, SK Hynix intends to substantially boost its production capacity for HBM4 high-bandwidth memory in the latter half of 2026. Moreover, the company has already secured long-term supply agreements with 10 prominent industry customers. It is anticipated that the capital expenditures for 2026 will hit the upper end of the KRW 40 trillion to KRW 50 trillion range.
