On Tuesday, the semiconductor sector in the U.S. pre-market trading witnessed a collective downturn, influenced by the sluggish performance of stock markets in Asia and Europe. Nvidia's shares dipped by around 1.2% during this period, whereas Intel and AMD experienced more significant drops, each falling over 3%. Memory chip giant Micron Technology fared even worse, with its shares plummeting nearly 5%. The catalyst for this wave of declines in the U.S. stock market was the extensive sell-off activity in the Asian market. Furthermore, on July 28, when the U.S. stock market closed for the day, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index plummeted by more than 2%, marking a new closing low since May 20, with Nvidia's shares dropping approximately 5% in tandem.
