An international research team, spearheaded by the National University of Singapore, has successfully engineered a micro memristive radio frequency (RF) switch. This innovative switch is capable of functioning without a continuous power supply and has been pioneeringly utilized in reconfigurable monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs), facilitating efficient management of high-frequency signals. This breakthrough is anticipated to propel the evolution of 5G and 6G RF chips towards more compact designs and reduced power consumption.
