On July 27, NVIDIA announced a long-term partnership with Safe Superintelligence Inc. (SSI) and made a significant investment in the company, with specific financial terms undisclosed. SSI was founded by Ilya Sutskever, former Chief Scientist of OpenAI. Under the agreement, SSI will gain access to NVIDIA's flagship GPU hardware in large quantities, resulting in an order-of-magnitude increase in computing power. Previously, SSI primarily relied on Google's TPU chips. The two parties will jointly drive technological advancements in NVIDIA's computing platform, while NVIDIA will gain rare access to SSI's highly confidential research.
