On July 27th, Suremicro Electronics, a prominent domestic supplier specializing in GPU chips and solutions, officially announced the release of its Thunder Unified Computing Architecture (TUCA Architecture). This cutting-edge architecture is tailored for next-generation AI and heterogeneous computing applications. Accompanying this launch is the introduction of the GPGPU processor, named 'Tianheng 1100' (abbreviated as TH1100), which is specifically designed to cater to AI scenarios, including embodied intelligence.
According to reports, the TUCA Architecture seamlessly integrates Suremicro's proprietary GPGPU, AI acceleration chips, and heterogeneous computing hardware. It encompasses the entire computing chain, from application development and operator compilation to runtime scheduling and hardware execution. By doing so, it establishes a unified, highly efficient, and scalable software platform for heterogeneous computing.
The 'Tianheng 1100' marks a significant milestone as it is the inaugural GPGPU SoC chip independently developed by Suremicro, specifically targeting edge AI inference scenarios.
