SK Hynix has commenced ordering advanced DRAM manufacturing equipment for the Y1 factory, the first facility in the semiconductor cluster located in Won3-myeon, Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do. The initial investment corresponds to a monthly production capacity of 20,000 wafers. The first phase of the factory includes two plant frameworks and six clean rooms, with the production start time of the first clean room advanced from the originally planned May 2026 to February 2026.
