As per reports, SK Hynix has kicked off the process of ordering cutting-edge DRAM manufacturing equipment for its Y1 factory, with an initial investment aimed at achieving a monthly production capacity of 20,000 wafers. The Y1 factory stands as the inaugural facility within SK Hynix's expansive semiconductor hub located in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. Its initial phase encompasses two buildings and six clean rooms. Notably, the commencement of production in the first clean room (ph1) has been expedited from the originally scheduled May 2026 to February 2026.
