On July 13th, as per reports from South Korean media, industry insiders disclosed on Monday that Samsung Electronics has commenced preparations for the production of Tesla's next-generation AI chip, the AI5. Earlier, a Samsung executive had shared on LinkedIn that the Tesla AI5 chip had achieved 'tape-out' status, signifying that the final design phase preceding mass production had been successfully completed. The AI5 chip, independently developed by Tesla, offers computational backing for Tesla's 'Full Self-Driving' system, the Optimus humanoid robot, as well as AI data centers.
