The three major A-share indices opened on a downward note collectively. The Shanghai Composite Index started the session 0.75% lower, while the Shenzhen Component Index dipped by 0.92%. The ChiNext Index, too, was not spared, opening 0.86% in the red. Among the sectors, semiconductors and Apple-related concepts were at the forefront of the decline. Shannon Semiconductor, in particular, witnessed a steep fall of over 9%. Demingli and GigaDevice also suffered significant losses, with their shares declining more than 5%. On the flip side, the oil and gas, as well as coal sectors, emerged as the top performers. Hengtong Co., Ltd. and Huajin Co., Ltd. saw their shares surge by over 8%. Meanwhile, the industrial gases concept gained momentum, with Hua Te Gas skyrocketing over 10% and Kaimeite Gas climbing more than 7%.
