Recent price tracking data reveals that Samsung’s DDR4 and DDR5 memory chips have both seen price hikes in the South Korean market. Notably, DDR4 prices have surged significantly, emerging as the centerpiece of this latest round of memory price inflation. Samsung is currently engaged in negotiations with its clients, with plans to raise the average selling price of standard DRAM by up to 20% in the third quarter, compared to the previous quarter. LPDDR prices could see even steeper increases, potentially exceeding 20%. Market surveys indicate that DRAM supply will remain tight in the third quarter, with contract prices projected to climb 13-18% quarter-on-quarter.
