The Federated Union of Samsung Electronics, which is mainly made up of staff from the DX department (boasting roughly 28,000 members), is set to organize a protest rally close to the Suwon campus on the 16th of this month. The event is anticipated to draw between 2,000 and 3,000 participants. The rally is intended to voice opposition against the unfair situation that emerged during the 2026 salary discussions. Specifically, non-chip departments such as DX were allocated stock bonuses amounting to only KRW 6 million, a sum significantly lower than the maximum KRW 600 million bonus granted to the semiconductor department. The union is calling on management to address this issue and implement corrective actions.
