On July 2, South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced that it would invest 392 trillion won in industrial projects in the central Chungcheong region. Among them, subsidiaries of Samsung will utilize approximately 140 trillion won for HBM wafer fabs, advanced packaging, OLED production, and battery line construction; SK Hynix will invest around 100 trillion won to build NAND and advanced packaging facilities; biopharmaceutical company Celltrion plans to invest about 2 trillion won in biopharmaceutical facility construction. Another approximately 150 trillion won will be allocated to the construction of AI data centers. The South Korean government has pledged to provide financing, tax incentives, and regulatory support to ensure the smooth implementation of these projects.
