On July 1, US President Trump once again turned the spotlight on Taiwan’s semiconductor manufacturing sector. He remarked that the world’s leading chipmakers are relocating from Taiwan, China, to the United States, with TSMC having announced plans to double the capacity of its Arizona facility. According to Trump, this expansion will not only generate more job opportunities but also pave the way for the establishment of additional factories in the coming year, including those operated by chip manufacturers from Taiwan, China. He further projected that by the end of his presidency, the United States could capture up to 50% of the global chip market.
