Samsung, the South Korean powerhouse in chip foundry, is currently forging ahead with the development of lithography simulation technology that leverages the power of quantum computing and artificial intelligence. The primary objective is to fine-tune the lithography and etching procedures integral to chip manufacturing, thereby bridging the cost and time divide that currently exists between Samsung and its formidable competitor, TSMC. As per reports from South Korean media outlets, Samsung intends to harness this cutting-edge technology to elevate wafer yield and amplify chip transistor density. Furthermore, the company is set to embark on proof-of-concept trials for the associated algorithms in the upcoming year.
