Apple is currently in talks with two Chinese semiconductor firms, ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) and Yangtze Memory Technologies, with the intention of procuring memory chips. This move is designed to mitigate the cost pressures stemming from escalating memory chip prices. As of now, the negotiations are still in progress, and a definitive agreement has yet to be finalized. Previously, Apple has implemented price hikes for its MacBooks and iPads, citing the surge in memory costs as the primary reason. Should Apple succeed in incorporating products from these two companies, it is anticipated to alleviate the strain exerted by upstream suppliers.
