At Computex 2026, AMD announced the extension of the lifecycle for its mainstream desktop platform, Socket AM5, until 2029, with a total support period of 7 years. This means the AM5 platform will be compatible with at least Zen 6 architecture processors and subsequent Ryzen 10000 series products. The move aims to reduce upgrade costs for users, allowing continuous processor upgrades on the same motherboard. Meanwhile, AMD introduced the EXPO ULL memory overclocking specification, which can enhance gaming frame rates by approximately 4%, with the first certified memory kits set to go on sale starting June 2026.
