At CES 2026, AMD took the wraps off the Ryzen AI 400 series APU, specifically tailored for mobile platforms and boasting the cutting-edge Zen 5 architecture. Shortly after, in March, AMD broadened the scope of this series to encompass desktop platforms as well. Now, AMD has once again expanded its product offerings by officially introducing the Ryzen AI Max+ 400 PRO series, aimed at the high-end and professional markets, as a successor to the earlier Max PRO 300 series. The mobile iteration of the Ryzen AI 400 series is outfitted with up to 12 Zen 5 cores and 16 RDNA 3.5 GPU cores, delivering an impressive NPU performance of up to 60 TOPS. It also offers remarkable energy efficiency and can provide up to 24 hours of battery life for local video playback. The desktop version is anticipated to make its debut in the second quarter of 2026. The Ryzen AI Max+ 400 PRO series is meticulously designed for high-end ultra-thin laptops, workstations, and compact mini PCs, providing robust AI computing and graphics processing capabilities.
