On May 15, the city hosted a pivotal event dedicated to the convergence of disruptive technologies in space computing and the industries of tomorrow. As one of the select few cities in China boasting a comprehensive edge across the entire space computing industry chain, Shanghai is intensifying its efforts to merge a multitude of technologies, spanning aerospace, computing, communications, and chips. The city is zeroing in on pivotal links, harnessing the collective strengths of diverse stakeholders, and constructing an autonomous and controllable industrial ecosystem.
During the event, Oriental Space Computing and LightBit unveiled the establishment of the Space-Based Optical Computing Innovation Center, marking the inception of the world's inaugural optical computing satellite and the first space-based optical computing payload. Furthermore, the Yangtze River Delta Space-Based Computing Innovation Consortium declared its readiness to embark on a journey, centering its attention on seven core technologies to forge a comprehensive technology matrix that spans the entire chain.
