In May 2026, a research team hailing from Tokushima University in Japan unveiled a groundbreaking terahertz wireless communication system. This system successfully achieved a wireless transmission rate of 112 gigabits per second within the 560 GHz frequency band. Notably, this marks the inaugural instance of attaining 100G-level wireless communication per second in a frequency band exceeding 420GHz.
