On May 17th, it was reported that Yin Zhiao, Chairman and General Manager of Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment Inc. China (AMEC), is hailed as the "Father of Chinese Etching Machines." He revealed that in December 2023, AMEC decided to venture into the large flat panel equipment sector, a field where approximately 17 types of process equipment had previously relied entirely on imports. This equipment weighs 150 tons, measures 15 meters in length and 15 meters in width, with a height equivalent to two and a half floors. Yin Zhiao originally estimated that developing such equipment would take 3 to 7 years, but AMEC's elite team managed to build a functional device from scratch in just 12 months, meeting the customer's next-generation requirements in less than 4 months, and having it transported to the production line and approved within 18 months. Yin Zhiao stated that AMEC now has the capability to manufacture the most advanced equipment.
