At the 2026 commencement ceremony of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in the United States, Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, delivered an inspiring speech and was bestowed with an honorary doctorate in Science and Technology. The accolade was conferred by Lip-Bu Tan, CEO of Intel. In a celebratory message, Tan disclosed that Intel is actively collaborating with NVIDIA on the development of innovative products. Recall that in September of the previous year, NVIDIA announced a substantial $5 billion investment aimed at co-developing 'revolutionary' chips with Intel. The collaboration is set to integrate their respective technologies, offering comprehensive solutions for customers in the personal computing and data center sectors.
Tan further confirmed that the two tech giants are jointly working on the development of Xeon processors tailored for enterprise-level and data center applications. This partnership aims to usher in a new generation of AI host nodes, setting a new benchmark in the industry. Moreover, Intel's future processor roadmap reveals that the upcoming Serpent Lake architecture will seamlessly integrate Intel CPUs with NVIDIA GPU solutions, marking a significant leap forward in processor technology.
