On April 17 (local time), Musk declared that SpaceX and Tesla have consistently been significant customers of TSMC, rather than its rivals. Given that TSMC is unable to satisfy their massive chip requirements, it is imperative to push forward with the 'Terafab' chip factory initiative. Earlier, TSMC noted during an earnings conference call that both Intel and Tesla serve as both customers and competitors, and underscored that constructing a new chip factory would take 2-3 years, with an additional 1-2 years needed to ramp up production capacity.
