On Friday, workers from the Samsung Electronics Union in South Korea raised an alarm, cautioning that if the strike were to go ahead as scheduled, the company might suffer a staggering loss of 30 trillion won (equivalent to approximately $20.3 billion) in profits this year. This warning comes amidst a stalemate in wage negotiations, with the union having previously called for a significant hike in performance bonuses. Should their demands be met, the total bonus amount that Samsung Electronics would be required to pay out this year could soar to as much as 45 trillion won.
