On April 10, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology convened the 2026 National Industry Conference on High-Quality Development of the Electronic Information Manufacturing Industry in Wuhan. The conference underscored the importance of maintaining an innovation-driven strategy, crafting the '15th Five-Year Plan' for the electronic information manufacturing sector, and expediting the growth of the fifth-generation Reduced Instruction Set Computing (RISC-V) industry. It also highlighted the need to propel iterative enhancements in artificial intelligence terminals, achieve concurrent advancements in both complete systems and components, create groundbreaking products, and diversify application scenarios. Furthermore, the conference stressed the significance of adhering to a value-driven approach, fostering high-quality development within the advanced computing industry, establishing a streamlined and unified AI chip computing interconnection ecosystem, and elevating the value of the industrial supply chain. Additionally, the conference called for the elimination of cut-throat 'involution' competition within the photovoltaic industry and the reinforcement of the robustness and security of critical industrial and supply chains.
