Two informed sources have revealed to Reuters that SpaceX has commenced the installation of equipment at its cutting-edge chip packaging facility in Bastrop, Texas, with the ambition to commence production by the close of this year. Despite experiencing some delays in the timeline, the company remains steadfast in its commitment to kick-start production before the year concludes. This plant will specialize in providing packaging services for the radio frequency chips integral to SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet system. Presently, the packaging of these chips is outsourced to external suppliers; however, SpaceX intends to shift a portion of this packaging process to internal operations.
