According to South Korean media reports, hyperscale cloud service providers such as Microsoft and Google are in final negotiations with SK Hynix for long-term DRAM supply contracts. The contracts, spanning three years and taking effect this year, are worth tens of trillions of Korean won. Key terms include setting a price floor to prevent significant declines in DRAM unit prices and requiring buyers to pay 10% to 30% of the total contract value as a deposit upfront. SK Hynix is also in discussions with Google regarding long-term supplies of high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and general-purpose DRAM for servers.
