Yu Weining, the Chief Statistician of the Industrial Department at the National Bureau of Statistics, highlighted while interpreting the profit data of industrial enterprises for January and February 2026 that high-tech manufacturing has witnessed remarkable profit growth, with its leading role becoming even more pronounced. Data indicates that from January to February, the profits of high-tech manufacturing enterprises above a designated size surged by 58.7% year-on-year. This growth rate marked a substantial increase of 45.4 percentage points compared to the entire previous year. Such robust performance propelled the profit growth of all industrial enterprises above a designated size by 7.9 percentage points, with the driving effect strengthening by 5.5 percentage points compared to the previous year as a whole.
In terms of sectors, the manufacturing of intelligent products stood out prominently. Profits in the manufacturing of intelligent unmanned aerial vehicles, intelligent vehicle-mounted devices, and other intelligent consumer devices rose by 59.3%, 50.0%, and 31.3%, respectively.
Meanwhile, the semiconductor industry's swift development spurred rapid profit growth in related chain sectors. Specifically, profits in the manufacturing of semiconductor discrete devices, optoelectronic devices, and electronic circuits climbed by 130.5%, 56.1%, and 19.5%, respectively.
