On March 24, during the 2026 XuanTie RISC-V Ecosystem Conference, Alibaba DAMO Academy introduced its latest RISC-V CPU, the XuanTie C950. Built upon the open-source RISC-V architecture, this CPU made a significant leap by scoring over 70 points in the SPECint2006 benchmark, which measures single-core general-purpose performance. This achievement sets a new global benchmark for RISC-V CPUs. When paired with the newly launched XuanTie AI Accelerator Engine, the XuanTie C950 facilitates high-performance computing that seamlessly blends general-purpose computing with AI inference capabilities, enabling it to effortlessly operate the Qwen3 large model, which boasts hundreds of billions of parameters. At the conference, QianWen announced its membership in the XuanTie RISC-V Wujian Alliance, reinforcing the push for 'chip-model synergy' and expediting the deep integration of RISC-V and large models in industrial applications.
