On March 14, CNBC reported that although NVIDIA GPUs have held sway over the market for an extended period, the burgeoning prominence of AI agents is now fueling a revival of its CPUs. NVIDIA is poised to unveil fresh details regarding its CPUs, which have been optimized for AI agents, at the upcoming GTC Conference, with the potential to introduce pure CPU racks. In 2021, NVIDIA unveiled its inaugural data center CPU, Grace, and the subsequent generation, Vera, has already commenced production. These CPUs are frequently deployed in tandem with Hopper, Blackwell, or Rubin GPUs within comprehensive rack-level systems. As AI application scenarios pivot towards task-oriented agents, CPUs have emerged as a bottleneck hindering the scalability of AI and agent workflows. In contrast to the general-purpose CPUs offered by Intel and AMD, NVIDIA's CPUs are meticulously crafted to cater to data processing and AI agent workflows.
