European AI chip startup Axelera AI has recently secured over $250 million in funding, which will be used to scale up production and software development for its high-performance AI inference chip, Europa. Founded in 2021, the company has now raised a total of over $450 million in funding to date. Additionally, in March 2025, Axelera AI received €66 million in funding from the European Union to develop a chip codenamed Titania, which will be deployed in EU supercomputing centers.
