Apple's M-series chips have long led the way in energy efficiency for laptops, but Intel's latest Panther Lake chip has made a major breakthrough in battery life. Recent tests show that the ASUS 14-inch ExpertBook Ultra, powered by this chip, delivers battery life close to that of the Apple M5 MacBook Pro in heavy-duty tests. After 2.5 hours of continuous heavy-duty testing at maximum brightness, the M5 MacBook Pro had 40% battery remaining, while the ASUS ExpertBook Ultra had 38%. Although Apple still holds a slight lead, Intel's achievement represents a historic leap for the x86 architecture, marking significant progress in energy efficiency.
