The commercially available version (the mass-produced iteration) of the RTX 3080 Ti is equipped with 12GB of video memory (VRAM), which is merely half the amount found in the RTX 3090. Nevertheless, NVIDIA did once endeavor to roll out a variant boasting 20GB of VRAM. In pursuit of this goal, they opted to narrow the memory bus width from 384-bit to 320-bit. This move, however, led to a reduction in memory bandwidth, and the resulting performance did not warrant such a compromise. In the end, this particular variant never made it to the market.
