According to Siliconangle, Positron AI, a startup specializing in AI inference chips, has recently wrapped up an oversubscribed Series B funding round, raising a substantial $230 million and achieving a post-money valuation of $1 billion. This round of funding was spearheaded by Arena Private Wealth, Jump Trading, and Unless, and saw contributions from new investors including the Qatar Investment Authority, Arm, and Helena, alongside existing shareholders such as Valor Equity Partners. The CEO of the company mentioned that their self-developed chip, Asimov, is slated to commence mass production in early 2027. This chip will boast significantly higher memory capacity per device than its competitors, with the goal of overcoming the memory bottleneck that currently hinders AI inference.
