According to a CNBC report on February 3 (local time), Intel's CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, announced that the company is ramping up its efforts in the graphics processing unit (GPU) domain and has appointed a new chief architect. Industry experts view this strategic move as a pivotal initiative for Intel to solidify its foothold in the GPU market and vie for a larger slice of the AI hardware sector. Furthermore, Lip-Bu Tan highlighted that the current surge in data center construction has disrupted the chip market's supply-demand equilibrium, predicting that the scarcity of memory chips could extend up to 2028.
