The primary objective of the visit was to gain a deeper understanding of GCL’s business strategy concerning granular silicon and perovskite technologies in the United States. Earlier market reports had suggested that Musk’s team had toured several Chinese photovoltaic firms, including TCL Zhonghuan and Jingsheng Mechanical and Electrical. These inspections encompassed critical areas such as photovoltaic equipment, silicon wafers, and battery cells. Notably, the two cutting-edge technological pathways—heterojunction and perovskite—were the main focus of the inspection.
