Market research organization TrendForce has announced an upward revision of its chip price projections, attributing the change to the robust growth of the artificial intelligence (AI) sector. The institution now anticipates that traditional DRAM contract prices will surge by 90% to 95% in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the levels in 2025. This marks a significant increase from the previous forecast, which estimated a rise of 55% to 60%. Similarly, the projected quarterly hike in NAND Flash contract prices has been adjusted upward, from the initial range of 33% to 38% to the new range of 55% to 60%, with the potential for further increases.
