On January 27, China Microelectronics released a notice regarding price hikes. Owing to the industry-wide scarcity of chips, escalating costs, and extended lead times for packaged finished goods, coupled with higher expenses for frameworks, packaging, and testing, the company opted to implement an immediate price surge of 15% to 50% on its MCU, Norflash, and other offerings.
Simultaneously, Goke Microelectronics also declared a price rise. Given the constrained supply and cost escalation of memory chips, it is anticipated that the supply deficit for co-packaged KGD chips will expand further. Additionally, costs associated with substrates and other manufacturing processes have climbed. Consequently, the company resolved to increase prices for certain products, effective from January 2026. Specifically, the prices of co-packaged 512Mb, 1Gb, and 2Gb KGD products will see a hike of 40%, 60%, and 80%, respectively. Separate announcements will be made regarding price adjustments for external DDR products, and the extent of the price increase in the second quarter of 2026 will hinge on market price fluctuations of KGD.
China Microelectronics serves as a provider of intelligent control solutions, whereas Goke Microelectronics is dedicated to the development of large-scale integrated circuits and solutions spanning various sectors.
