On January 26, Kangxi Communications made public that its subsidiary had triumphed in the preliminary ruling of a Section 337 investigation launched by the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC). Based on the preliminary ruling issued by the ITC administrative law judge on January 24, 2026 (Beijing Time), it was determined that Kangxi Communications' subsidiaries—Kangxi Communications Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and GRAND CHIP LABS, INC.—along with associated entities, had not contravened Section 337 of the U.S. Tariff Act of 1930. Additionally, they were found not to have infringed upon the two patents (US9,917,563 and US8,717,101) that Skyworks had claimed were violated. Moreover, during the discovery phase of this Section 337 investigation, three other patents (US9,450,579, US9,148,194, and US7,409,200) were removed from consideration after Skyworks voluntarily withdrew its claims regarding them. As a result, Kangxi Communications has been exonerated from infringing upon any of the five patents that Skyworks had alleged.
Kangxi Communications indicated that it would now advance to the administrative review and final ruling stages at the ITC. The company remains committed to tracking the developments of these proceedings and will take proactive measures to protect the lawful rights and interests of both the company and its shareholders.
